Biography    
CHEN Jianping, Ph.D., Distinguished Professor. So far, he has carried out a series of scientific research projects supported by the National 973 Program (Principal Scientist) and 863 Program, the National Natural Science Foundation, and Shanghai Science & Technology Commission.  Dr. Chen has published more than 200 papers on journals such as Optica, IEEE/OSA Journal of Lightwave Technolgy, IEEE Communications Magazine, and holds more than 60 patents from US, Europe and China. He has received honors including the National Excellent Education Achievement Award, the Science and Technology Progress Awards from the State Ministry of Education and Shanghai Municipal Government. He currently serves as the Director, Office of Strategic Planning, and Secretary-General, Academic Committee, SJTU, and is a member of the Discipline Review Group of the Seventh Degree Committee of the State Council. He also served as associate/guest editor for journals such as IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications.
